St. John's Bible on Display

St. Kate's owns a Heritage Edition of the St. John's Bible, given to the University by Lois Rogers '63.  One volume is on permanent display by the new water feature in the lower level CDC atrium.  To help preserve the Bible for as long as possible, each illumination will be shown for a limited time.  Beginning next week, October 24th, the page will be changed every Thursday at noon.  Make it part of your week to stop by and see the new page.

Currently on display in the CDC atrium is the Pentateuch volume, open to the first page of Genesis.

The other 6 volumes will be available in the Library this week.  Take advantage of the opportunity to see the Bible up close for yourself.  Come by to view the illuminations, read passages of the text, or admire the art and workmanship that went into creating it.

When:
Tuesday, October 15, 9 am - 6 pm
Wednesday, October 16, 8 am - 1 pm

Where:  Faculty Study in the Library, CDC 123

Please note: to prevent damage to the volumes, no food or drink will be allowed in the Faculty Study while the Bible is on display.
