Archives Display: October is American Archives Month

This October we’re celebrating American Archives Month with a side-by-side comparison of campus events from the past and present. Today students can quickly find pictures from the latest happenings on St. Kate’s Flickr site.  While some older photos are on Digital Collections, we must also dig a little deeper into the University Archives to find out what students used to do for fun.

Come see how St. Kate’s tradition of intramural sports, dances, fashion design, and spring festivals has evolved over the years. Items on display include a gym suit from 1938, dance cards from the 1950s, and photos from May Fete in the 1960s, one of which features some unlucky men “jailed” in a jungle gym.

The display for American Archives Month will be up during the month of October on the main level of the St. Paul Library, in the case right before the video carrels.
