What is Banned Books Week?
Banned Books Week is an annual event to highlight censorship & celebrate the freedom to read. For more information about Banned Books Week, visit this American Library Association website.

People try to ban books?!
Yes, thousands of books are challenged in libraries every year. The most challenged book of 2014? The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie (which is in our collection, check it out). Read about the top 10 challenged books of 2014.

A Read Out is an event where members of the community read passages of their favorite banned books.
